All about time!

Having been in the antiques business as long as I have, collecting clocks naturally became part of the routine. I had gathered up over 30 clocks that needed some type of repair, mechanics or case. I did a little research on the cost for repairs through some of the local clock shops. The cost for the repairs ranged from $95.00 to $125.00 + parts. A quick check with my accountant, we both agreed, it was more profitable to repair than to sell the clocks out right. Luckily I have a friend who's father was taking a course on clock repair. Emily Griffith Opportunity School in downtown Denver offered the class. The cost to attend class for a semester was equal to have 2 clocks repaired. So, for over 7 years now I have been repairing, selling and winding clocks, almost nonstop on the winding part. I offer my services for at least 1/3 what others charge. Owning my own store provides me that opportunity, low overhead is an important key to success in my case.
